In the story 'Bringing up Kari', Kari helps the boy(its master) in several ways. Kari did several good deeds either by a command given by the boy or by himself. Because of his proper training, he knew how important someone's life is and knew that Kari should save the boy when he saw him drowning. Another such example is given in the story, that is teaching an elephant the 'master call'. If taught properly, saying the master call in the elephant's ears helpes a lot if you are lost in a dark, dangerous place like a jungle. Animals are not only useful helpers but great companions as well, just like Kari was to the boy. Thus it is said that animals can be our most loyal and obedient friend if trained properly
