Love is something that is felt by everyone even by trees and animals. I have one example of it- JOHN MANNING had been a poor shepherd in the hill country. At eighty six though his steps were less sure and his sight had begun to fail, he still took his sheep faithfully out to pasture. His dog was too old, and had often shared his masters fears. He had served his master faithfully and his master always tries to spend the time with his dog. One day the master and the dog never returned. Seven days later the master was found lying dead in the snow, with a weak, hungry but sad dog, guarding his body. It is the height of devotion and love. 2) i have a dog named peter, I don't know how he came to know that i’m coming from school and as i reached to the front door, I always find my dog waiting for me and as soon as he sees me, he ran towards me and lick my hands, this act of him sign me, friend wlcm now we will have fun again….

This is a true story that happened in 1972 at the National Circus in Giza, Egypt…

Mohamed Al-Helw riding on Sultan

In front of a huge audience “Mohamed Al-Helw”, a world known Egyptian lion tamer back then, turned around to salute the audience that applauded to his amazing talent with the lion “Sultan”.

In a split second, the lion jumped his tamer from behind and thrust its claws and teeth in his back. The tamer fell down bleeding while the raging lion was on top of him. Guards and even some audience raced to save the tamer and managed to drive away the lion but only when it was too late. A few days later the tamer died in hospital.

Strangely, Sultan became too depressed refusing to eat and because of his dreadful accident, he was considered unfit for circus and was donated to Zoo.

In the Zoo, Sultan’s hunger strike continued. A female lioness was brought to keep him company, but he only hit her and kicked her away, and continued his voluntary isolation and depression. Finally, he started to become insane as he cut his tail in half and started biting his body, especially his very hand which killed his master.

Sultan suffered serious self inflicted injuries which caused his death putting an end to a unique story of regret. Regret of a noble animal king of the wilderness who could know the true meaning of loyalty to such an extent that many humans don’t reach.

As if Sultan was tortured by the last words of his master who requested that no harm would be done to Sultan.

Sultan’s story is one small example that suggests how even animal soul has a heavenly nature that feels and clearly understands punishment and responsibility. But Sultan death should help us to learn something. And allow us to not forget about true human values such as loyalty and self assessment. This would certainly be the best tribute to the memory of a true story that is simply awakening.

The awful wrongs and sufferings forced upon the innocent, helpless, faithful

animal race form the blackest chapter in the whole world's history." God

created all life forms with equal care and love. As man loves freedom, so do

all forms of animals. Man uses animals for his pleasure, entertainment and

convenience. This is man’s cruelty to animals! Have animals ever encroached

into man’s world and hunted him? Has any animal ever encaged any man? If man

were treated with the same cruelty, how would he feel? Certainly, he would feel

the pain, hurt, suffering, and torture if being in the cage?

Animals are equally precious and

should equally share God’s earth and should not be caged at all. They should be

in the wilderness with their families. Animals should live in their natural

habitat and be allowed to roam freely because animals’ natural instincts will

vanish if they are caged in zoos. Also, some animals are forced to live in

climates that they are not accustomed to and this is cruel. For example, the

elephant is accustomed to live in tropical climates but is forced to live in

zoos in cold countries like Canada.

Animals feel pain and pleasure,

and have emotions. Those who have kept pets in their life at one point know

animals feel pain and pleasure. Have you ever seen a pet dog’s joy when he sees

his master returning home after a day’s work? Have you ever seen a pet’s

sadness when its master is separated from it for a long time? There are many

real life incidents in all parts of the world that are touching examples of

animals’ understanding and care towards human beings. Some famous books such as

‘The Jungle Book’, ‘The War Horse’, and certain movies such as ‘The Eight

Below’, ‘War Horse’, ‘Jungle Book’, etc. endorse the argument that animals are

not only emotional, they are intelligent also.

We must treat them with respect. We must not subject them to pain, separation from their habitat or natural environment. We must stop exploiting and killing them for fun and food. Besides, it is not morally and ethically right to deprive someone of the right of living in their own home. Forests and their other habitats are the natural home of animals. We must let them live there. We must follow the precept of ‘Live and let live others’ conscientiously. Being the most intelligent animal, it is man’s responsibility to take care of the less endowed animals.
