Plants grow using Meristematic tissue. This tissue grows by undergoing cellular division. Since meristematic tissue is made of living cells, plants continue to grow throughout their lives.
Meanwhile, in animals, environmental factors, such as location and diet affect their growth. Humans grow until they reach a genetically predetermined size. Some animals, such as sharks and lizards, can continue to grow all through out their lives.
