Animals having tissue level of organisation are classified on the basis of body cavity known as Coelom.

Explanation:

On the basis of Coelom, animals are divided into three categories: -

  • Acoelomates: - Animals which do not have body cavity i.e coelom is absent. Example is flatworms.

  • Pseudocoelomates: - Animals with false coelom. Example is Roundworms.

  • Eucoelomates: - Animals with true body cavity i.e coelom is present. Examples are Annelids, Arthropods, Mollusks, Echinoderms and Chordates.
