Aniruddha borrowed a sum of Rs 50000 from his friend at 14%p.a. He returned half of the sum after 6 months and the remaining sum after one year. Find the total simple interest paid by him.

r for 1 year = 14 %  

then r for 6 months =7 %

so 7% of p =50000/100 *7= rs 3500

and she paid 1/2 so =50000/2=25000left

14% of 25000(si)=250*14 =3500 rs

so total si=3500+3500=7000rs
