Anita runs at 8 km/hr and Binita runs at 6 km/hr. They start from the same place and at the same time running in a line in the same direction. After running for 2 hours Anita turns back. Assuming Anita lost no time in turning, find how far Anita had to run when Binita meets her

Answer:

2.28 kms

Step-by-step explanation:

Distance ran be by Anita in 2 hours = 2*8= 16 Km

Distance ran be by Binita in 2 hours = 2*6= 12 Km

Anita turns back in no time and at at time distance between the two is 4 km

this 4 km are covered by both travelling opposite to each other.

time take to meet each other = 4/14 hours

distance that Anita had to travel to meet Binita = 4/14*8= 16/7 kms

= 2(2/7)= 2.28 kms
