She subtracts 32 from it, so it becomes S-32.

Now this is multiplied by 8, so it becomes (S-32)×8………..(1)

This value is 5 times the original value, which is 5×S………….(2)

Equating (1) and (2)

(S-32)×8=5×S

-> 8S-256 = 5S

-> 3S=256

-> S=256÷3

-> S= 85.333333333

Therefore number chosen by Anita is 85.33333333
