Given :- Anitha sold her bike at 30% discount still she makes 20% profit. Find the cost price of bike if marked price is Rs.60000,

(a) Rs.37000

(6) Rs.36000

(c) Rs.32000

(d) Rs.35000

Solution :-

→ Marked price (MP) of bike = Rs.60000 .

→ Discount = 30%

so,

→ Selling price (SP) of bike = MP * (100 - discount%)/100 = (60000 * 70)/100 = Rs.42000 .

now,

→ SP of bike = Rs.42000

→ Profit % = 20%

then,

→ CP of bike = SP * 100 / (100 + Profit%) = 42000 * 100/120 = Rs.35000 (D) (Ans.)

Hence, the cost price of bike is Rs.35000 .

Given:

Marked Price = Rs 60,000

Discount Percentage = 30%

Profit Percentage = 20%

To find:

The cost price of the bike.

Solution:

It is given that discount is 30%, Marked price is Rs 60,000 and Profit percent is 20%.

Finding the Discount:

Discount = Discount percent on MP

Discount = 60,000x30%

Discount = 18000

Finding the Selling Price:

Selling Price = Marked Price - Discount

Selling Price = 60,000 - 18000

Selling Price = 42000

Finding the Cost Price: (CP)

CP =  \dfrac{100}{100 + P\%}  \times SP

 =  >  \dfrac{100}{100 + 20}  \times 42000

 =  >  \dfrac{100}{120}  \times 42000

  =  >  \dfrac{4200000}{120}

 = 35000

Hence, the cost price of the bike is Rs 35000
