Answer:

Anjali can make a complete test in 16 hrs.

she only works at this rate for 8 hrs.

Rest work she can complete in 5 hours as she works at a rate such that she can make the complete test in 10 hrs.

So, total time taken by Anjali to complete the work is 13 hours.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Anjali can complete 1 work in 16 hours.
  • Hence, in 1 hour, she can do \frac{1}{16} of the work.
  • she only works at this rate for 8 hrs...............................................(i)
  • So, in 8 hours , she can do \frac{1}{16}  × 8 = \frac{1}{2}  of the work.
  • After 8 hrs, the remaining work = 1 - \frac{1}{2}  = \frac{1}{2}
  • After 8hrs, she works at a rate such that she can make the complete test in 10 hrs. So, in 1 hr , she can do 1/10 of the work.

Here, 1 complete work she can do in 10 hours

so, Remaining \frac{1}{2}  of the work she can do in 10 × \frac{1}{2} = 5 hours..................(ii)

From (i) and (ii), we can say that,

to Complete the work, the time Anjali will take = 8 hours + 5 hours = 13 hours.
