Anju Bobby George created history with a "bronze medal" in Paris 2003 "World Championships in Athletics".
Following which, she reached her career best in long jump with a:
Gold in 2005 World Athletics Final, Monte Carlo;
Bronze in 2002 Commonwealth Games, Manchester;
Gold in Asian Games 2002 Busan, Silver in 2006 Doha;
Gold and Silver in Asian Championships 2005 and 2007;
Gold in Colombo South Asian Games 2007.
Her career-best score is 6.83 m in the long jump which is still a national record. She had her career-best world ranking from 28th, 6th, and 4th. She is also awarded "Padma Shri", "Khel Ratna", and "Arjuna awards".
