Ankit bought 7 pens and paid ₹60 to the shopkeeper. If he got back ₹4 as balance, what was the price of one pen?

Answer:

Change he had gotten back=  ₹4

Amount he had paid=  ₹60

Therefore cost of the 7 pens= 60-4=  ₹56

Therefore cost of one pen= Cost of 7 pens/7 pens =

56/7=  ₹8

Hence each pen costs  ₹8
