Answer:Given : Ankita tries to find the highest common factor of a and b  using Euclid's division algorithm . In one of her steps, she divides  867 by 255

To Find :  the highest common factor of a and b

Solution:

HCF = highest common factor

in one of step 867 divided by 255

Hence HCF of 867 & 255

would be the HCF of a & b

867  = 255 * 3 +  102

255 = 102 * 2  + 51

102 = 51 * 2

HCF ( 867 , 255) = 51

HCF ( a , b)  = 51

Hence 51 is the HCF  of a & b
