Anna Frank was a German girl who was straight forward, outspoken and a very sensitive girl. In the novel, Anna Frank had received her diary which she named as Kitty on her 13th birthday. In the novel, she has mentioned all the problems she faced. She was a very sensitive person who felt that her mother did not understand her and only took side of her elder sister, Margot. She also considered her father as her role model and loved and respected him. She also in the annex felt a strange attachment to Mr. Van Daan's son, Peter Van Daans. She though considered him as her boyfriend but still considered him to be a little immature. She but deeply loved her school mate, Peter. Anna Frank always felt that if she could go out once and study in the same school that she used to study. But later in the later part of the novel, Anna Frank and the others hidden in the annex are found and later sent to concentration camps where Anna Frank dies of typhoid a week before her birthday. Anna Frank's diary is left with an incomplete last line as she had been caught by the officers while she was writing her diary. Anna Frank proves a very good inspiration to many of her readers and also showers on the problems faced by the Jews at that time. The diary of Anna Frank has been published by her father, named Otto Frank after he returned alive from the concentration camp.

Anne Frank is the main character of the novel. Her diary entries give an insight about her character and personality. Anne find a good and confident friend in the form of her diary which which she could share all her feelings. She share everything with her diary. She does not think she is pretty, but she is confident that her personality and other good traits make up for it.

Anne is a playful and comical but with the serious side. She is content and optimistic despite the threats and danger that her family faces. She is remarkably forthright and perceptive at the beginning of the diary but as she leaves her normal childhood behind and enters the dire and unusual circumstances of the holocaust, she becomes more introspective and thoughtful. Anne feels extremely lonely and in need of kindness and affection....
