Given :- Annie and Dexter both have a skipping rope

Annie's rope is 3/4 m shorter than Dexter's rope . The ropes together are 13/4 m altogether What is the length of both ropes ?

Solution :-

Let us assume that, Length of rope of annie is x m .

so,

→ Length of rope of Dexter = (x + 3/4) m .

Now, we have given that, The ropes together are 13/4 m altogether .

then,

→ Annie rope + Dexter rope = (13/4)

→ x + (x + 3/4) = (13/4)

→ 2x + (3/4) = (13/4)

→ 2x = (13/4) - (3/4)

→ 2x = (10/4)

→ x = (10/4) * (1/2)

→ x = (5/4) m .

therefore,

  • Length of rope of Annie = (5/4) m .
  • Length of rope of Dexter = (5/4) + (3/4) = (8/4) = 2 m.
