three years are added to annie age.

=> ( 2x + 3 ) years.

The annie will be thrice of maahi.

=> 3 ( x - 5 ) = ( 2x + 3 )

=> 3x - 15 = 2x + 3

=> x = 18

Therefore,

=> present age of maahi = x = 18 years.

=> present age of annie = 2x = 2(18) = 36 years.

To find how old they age.

=> present age of maahi = ( x - 2 ) years.

=> ( 18 - 2 ) = 16 years.

=> present age of annie = ( 2x - 2 ) years.

=> ( 2(18) - 2 ) = 34 years.
