When Kalam's father passed away , he was busy building the SPV-3 rocket at Thumba . He came from Thumba to Rameshwaram to attend his father's funeral . His father's death affected him deeply . He sat silently beside his mother for a long time . When he had to go for his work place , his mother never asked him to stay back . Instead his mother blessed him in a choked voice . He was very depressed to leave his mother alone . Soon after his father's death , his mother too died . Her death left him disheartened . The two people who had created and guided him were no more . But kalam often reminded himself of the beautiful childhood and his mother's greatness to understand his deepest feelings .
