Block printing is a process for printing text, images or patterns used throughout East Asia which has its source in China as a process of printing on textiles and paper.
Technique of printing on cloth the oldest surviving results from China date to before 220 AD.
Woodblock printing is still in China from the 7th century AD and still remained the common East Asian process of printing books, texts and images till the 19th century.
