Given

3y = 6x + 9

To find :

gradient of the line =?

Solution :

3y = 6x + 9

Equation can be written as

y=2x+3

Gradient of line =2

Perpendicular to the line gradient  can be determined by negative of the reciprocal of the gradient of the  line

So  perpendicular to the gradient of the line r =\frac{-1}{2}

Also we can proof by the following formula

m1 * m2 =-1\\2*\frac{-1}{2} \\=-1

Therefore Gradient of the line “r”=-1/2
