My state is Kerala and it is own as god's own country.There is a belief that, once a year during the Onam festival, Mahabali returns to Kerala. It is said that the god Vishnu is guarding Mahabali's Kingdom as a mark of respect for his virtues.These Puranic accounts portray Kerala as "God's own country", or the land favoured by God.

Kerala is mixture of various religions.  Kerala had remained as a unique cultural zone from ancient times. Kerala’s cultural heritage is centuries old. The culture of Kerala are native art forms, language, literature, architectural style, music, festivals, cuisine, archaeological monuments etc

Kathakali,Mohiniyattam ,Thirvathirakali etc are the most popular dance forms. Ela sadya , idli , sambhar ,dosa are one of the famous foods in kerala..Ela sadya is mostly eaten in onam.  Onam is a harvest festival celebrated by the people of KeralaThe traditional wear of the state is called 'Mundu' which is worn on the lower portion of the body, from the waist to the foot and is worn by both men and women.and is worn by both men and women.Kerala women also wear saree or paddu saree. People from kerala are known as Malabaris , Malayalis or Keralites. Thrissur is known as "Cultural Capital of Kerala" because of its cultural, spiritual and religious leanings. There is gender equality in kerala. Kerala is best performing state for education of girls.
