Explanation:

mole reaction refers to the balanced equation. For the given reaction 1 mole rxn would be the same as 1 mole of CH4(g) reacted, or 2 moles of O2(g) reacted, or 1 mole of CO2 formed, or 2 moles of H2O formed. ... where n is the number of "moles of reaction."

Answer:

Molecular weight of benzene (C₆H₆) = 78 g/mol

Molecular weight of Toluene (C₆H₅CH₃) = 92 g/mol

Given,mole fraction of benzene = 0.4

Let total number of mole in mixture = 1 mol

Then, mole of Benzene = 0.4 mol

∴ weight of benzene = mole of benzene × molecular weight

= 0.4 × 78 = 31.2g

so, mole fraction of Toluene = 1 - 0.4 = 0.6 [ because,sum of mole fractions of all substances present in mixture = 1 ]

Mole of Toluene = 0.6 mol

∴weight of Toluene = mole of Toluene × molecular weight of Toluene

= 0.6 × 92 = 55.2 g

Now, total weight = 31.2g + 55.2g = 86.4g

Now, weight percentage of benzene = weight of benzene/weight of Toluene ×100

= 31.2/86.4 × 100

= 36.1 %
