One prudential reason is that power sharing allows us to prevent social conflicts. For eg, power sharing allowed sharing of power between Dutch and French speaking communities in Belgium which prevented social conflict.

Moral reason is that power sharing is the very spirit of democracy. A democratic rule involves sharing of power with those affected by its exercise and those who have to live with its effects. Eg, in democracies like India power sharing is one of the key features of governance.
