Firstly, gram molecules is nothing but number of moles of molecules.
Note that 1 molecule of CO consists of 1 atom of 'C' and 1 atom of 'O'.
Also that 1 gram molecule of CO consists of 1 gram atom of 'C' and 1 gram atom of 'O'.
We all know the fact that 1 mole of anything contains 6.02 x 10²³ units
So, 6.02 x 10²⁴ molecules of CO is 10 moles of CO that is 10 gram molecules of CO.
This 10 gram molecules of CO is made up of 10 gram atoms of 'C' and 10 gram atoms of 'O'
Since gram molecules of Oxygen is being asked, knowing oxygen exists as O₂ as a molecule,
(1/2) x 10 = 5 gram molecules of O₂
Hope it helps!!
