Answer:

For finding the mode, first we find the modal class i.e. class with maximum frequency

In the given data, Modal class is 40 - 50 and then we use the following formula for finding the mode  

Where

Mode=l+(f1-f0/2fi-f0-f2)h

l, lower limit of modal class = 40

h, width of modal class = 10

f1, frequency of modal class = 20

f0, frequency of class preceding modal class = 12

f2, frequency of class exceeding modal class = 11

Putting the values, we get

40+(20-12/2*20-12-11)10

40+8/17*10

= 44.70
