Newton's First law of Motion:-

A body will continue in its state of rest or uniform motion in straight line unless it is compelled by some applied unbalanced force to change its state of rest or state of Motion.

However there are two sub-divisions of Newton's First law of Motion:-

1. A body will continue to be in its state of rest in a straight line unless compelled by some unbalanced force to change its state of rest. This part of the Law is self explanatory, as we experience in our everyday life that a body in its rest position pointing in any direction will remain in the same direction in the state of rest.

2. A body will continue in its state of motion unless compelled by some unbalanced force force to change its state of rest. However, this part of the Law seems to be wrong because any moving body that is on the surface of Earth have to come in rest because of the action of Frictional force.

Newton's second law of Motion also states that rate of change in Momentum of body is equal to the resultant force present on the body and move in the same direction in which resultant force acts and Newton's First law of Motion also states that a body will continue in motion unless it is being compelled by applied external Force.

To Find acceleration, We know that,

F = ma

200 N = 800 kg x a

200 kg m/s² = 800 kg x a

(200/800) m/s² = a

0.25 m/s² = a

∴ a = 0.25 m/s²
