Solution :

We have quadratic polynomial p(x) = 2x² + 7x - 4

Zero of the polynomial p(x) = 0

\longrightarrow\sf{2x^{2} + 7x -4=0}\\\\\longrightarrow\sf{2x^{2} + 8x-x-4=0}\\\\\longrightarrow\sf{2x(x + 4) -1(x+4)=0}\\\\\longrightarrow\sf{(x+4)(2x-1)=0}\\\\\longrightarrow\sf{x+4=0\:\:\:Or\:\:\:2x-1=0}\\\\\longrightarrow\sf{x=-4\:\:\:Or\:\:\;2x=1}\\\\\longrightarrow\bf{x=-4\:\:\:Or\:\:\:x=1/2}

Thus;

one zero will be 1/2 .
