Explanation:

we use two convex lenses in a compound microscope objective lenses and eyepiece. The object kept beyond the focal length of the objective lense. The objective lens produce a real and inverted image that is the larger than the object. The image serves as an object for the eyepiece is set such a way that the image formed by the objective should between the focus and the optical centre of eyepiece so that the eyepiece can magwify the image into a virtual.
