Use the formula

(x + y) \: (x - y) =  {x}^{2}  -  {y}^{2}

So

(3x + 4y) \: (3x - 4y) =  {(3x)}^{2}  -  {(4y)}^{2}  \\  \\  = 9 {x}^{2}  - 16 {y}^{2}
