geostationary satallite is also called HEO ( High Earth Orbit ) because its height is equal to or more than 35780 km. MEO ( Medium Earth orbit ) satallite is used to send at polar regions because these satallites are elliptical and passes through North to Soith pole while Geostationary is stationary with respect to a place on the earth.Therefore, geostationary satallite are not send on polar regions.
