Given:

Anshu has sold her guitar at a loss of 9%. If Anshu had bought the guitar for Rs 8000

To find:

the price which Anshu sold her guitar

Solution:

Let the cost price of the guitar is 100 units.

So as the loss percentage on selling the guitar is 9%

so the loss will be 9 units

As we know that the loss is the difference between the cost price of the article and the selling price of the article.

So the selling price of the article will be:

SP = CP-loss

SP = 100 - 9

SP = 91 units

as per the given condition of the question:

The actual selling price of the article is given by the unitary method

100 units ------- ₹8000

1 unit ----------- ₹80

91 units ----------- 80×91 = ₹7280

So the selling price of the guitar will be ₹7280
