• Then, increase in salary -

= 25% of x

= 25/100 × x

= 1/4 × x

= x/4



• Now, increased salary -

= x + x/4

= (4x + x)/4

= 5x/4



• Then, increased salary = new salary

=> 5x/4 = 3800

=> x = 3800 × 4/5

=> x = 760 × 4

=> x = 3040 Rs.
