(-2)^(2p+1) = (-2)^3
since bases are same so we can compare the power
2p+1 =3
p = 1
hope this helps

Hi...☺

Here is your answer...✌

{ ( - 2)}^{p + 1} . {( - 2)}^{p} = - 8 \\ \\ {( - 2)}^{p + 1 + p } = ( - 2) {}^{3}\\ \: \: \: \: \: \:\: \: \: \:\:\: \: \: \:\: \: \: \: \: \: \:\: \: \: \: \:\:\: \: \: \: \: \: \: \:( since \: a {}^{m} .a {}^{n} = {a}^{m + n} ) \\ \\ on \: equating \: power \: of \: ( - 2) \\ We \: \: get, \\ \\ 2p + 1 = 3 \\ \\ 2p \: = 3 - 1 = 2 \\ \\ = > p = 1
