One rabbit is going towards the river.
Every elephants saw 2 monkeys are going towards the river.
Every elephants saw 2 monkeys i.e., 2 monkeys with (2×1)=2 parrots.
∴, Total=1+2+2=5 animals going towards the river.

It is possible that all the elephant saw the same two monkeys, or saw 12 different monkeys.

So, two answers are possible:   1 rabbit + 2 monkeys + 2 parrots = 5
 or,    1 rabbit + 12 monkeys + 12 rabbits = 25
