Hey! Here's your answer!

Let digits be x and y.

x + y = 14

x = 2y - 1

By substituting the value of x n this equation,

2y - 1 + y = 14

3y = 15

y = 5

So, x = 9

The number is 95.

Hope this helps! :)

sima1221: Substitute means what
AccioNerd: We know the value of x, so we put that value, which is on terms of y, in the another equation which contains x and y. So we get only y as a variable and then we can solve it as an equation in one variable. It is called simultaneous equations in two variables, where we get value of one variable i terms of other and then solve to find the answer.
