Given :-

  • The Whole Shape is :- One Rectangle + One Right Angle ∆.
  • Sides of Rectangle = 5m & 8 m.
  • Base of Complete Quadrilateral = 12m.

Formula used :-

  • Area of Rectangle = Length * Breadth.
  • Area of Right angle ∆ = (1/2) * Base * Height .

Solution :-

→ Area of Figure with Rectangle = L * B = 5 * 8 = 40m² -------- Equation (1).

______________

Now,

Base of Right Angle ∆ = 12 - 5 = 7m.

→ Height of Right angle ∆ = 8 - 3 = 5m.

So,

Area of Right Angle ∆ = (1/2) * Base * Height = (1/2) * 7 * 5 = (35/2) = 17.5m². ------------ Equation (2).

_______________

Hence,

Area of Complete Figure = Rectangle Area + Area of Right angle ∆.

→ Required Area = Equation (1) + Equation (2).

→ Required Area = 40 + 17.5

→ Required Area = 57.5 m². (Ans.) (Option A).

Hence, Area of Given Figure is 57.5m².

\huge\tt{GIVEN:}

  • A figure which could be divided into a rectangle and a right angled triangle

________________________________

\huge\tt{TO~FIND:}

  • The area of the given figure

________________________________

\huge\tt{SOLUTION:}

➩Area of The Rectangle = (5×8)m² = 40m²

➠Base of right angled triangle = (12-5)=7m

➠Height of right angled triangle = (8-3)=5m

➩Area of the right angled triangle = ½ × Base × Height = (½ × 7 × 5) = 17.5m²

________________________________

➠Area of the whole figure = Area of Rectangle + ➠Area of the right angled triangle

➠Total area = (40+17.5)m²

➠Total area = 57.5m²
