Number of days in April = 30
So he would receive = 100×30 = ₹3000

But he received ₹1900.

Let's say he was absent for x days.
So instead of getting ₹100, he would lose ₹10 as fine.
So total loss in an absent day = ₹100 + ₹10 = ₹110.
Total loss in x days = 110×x = ₹110x

according to the question,
3000 - 110x = 1900
=> -110x = 1900 - 3000 = -1100
=> 110x = 1100
=> x = 1100/110
=> x = 10 days.

So he was absent for 10 days in April.

______________________________
If you want to check:
absent = 10 days
present = 30 - 10 = 20 days
payment for 20 days = 20×100 = ₹2000
fine = 10×10 = ₹100
payment for the month = 2000-100=₹1900

so answer is correct

Let the number of the days the man worked be 'x'. Since April has 30 days, The days he did not work would be '30-x'.

He gets 100Rs for 1 day work, therefore for x days he will get: 100×x = 100x Rs

He loses 10 Rs per day in which he doesn't do work, So the Rs that he will lose in (30-x) days will be: 10(30-x) Rs

Now the money he got = Payment - Fine

Therefore,

100x - 10(30 - x) = 1900 \\ 10x - 30 + x = 190 \\ 11x = 220 \\ x = 20
Therefore, he worked for 20 Days.
