27) Velocity = dx/dt

Hence v = 8t and acceleration = dv/dt

and a=8

Hence v-t graph must be a st. line with positive slope and a-t graph must be a line which is parallel to y-axis

29) The displacement will be the area under the graph

Area = 1/2 ×2×8 + 2×8 + 1/2×2×8 - 1/2×2×5 - 1/2×2×5

= 8+16+8-5-5

= 22 metres

As distance is a scalar quantity the same area for displacement will be changed as = 8+16+8+5+5

= 42 metres

28) (a) It shows us that the body first slows down , comes to rest and then it starts moving in the opposite direction.

(b) The body first moves with a constant velocity and then it constantly slows down......
