Don't Know about 31 as it is not in CBSE syllabus(i don't know about that) but 33 here it is,
P(x) = x² - 6x + q = 0
Let α = 2β
then,
α+β = -b/a
2β+β = -(-6)/1
3β = 6
β = 2
Now substituting the root in p(x),
P(x) = x² - 6x + q = 0
⇒ (2)² - 6(2) +q = 0
⇒ 4 - 12 + q = 0
⇒ -8 + q = 0
∴ q = 8
