Ans.41- (i) (a.)They seek the path of least resistance between opposite magnetic poles.

(b.)They never cross one another.

(ii)The time period of the current = (2x0.01) = 0.02 second Time period is the time required to complete one cycle. After half rotation the current reverses its direction. In one rotation, the current flows in the original direction completing one cycle. Frequency = 1/ time period = 50 Hz.

Ans.42- (i) Rancity is disagreeable taste or odour due to decomposition of oils and fats.

Methods to prevent rancity :-

(b)Pasteurisation

(ii)Corrosion can occur when the substance is exposed to air or some chemicals. Rusting mainly occurs when a metal is exposed to air and moisture. Corrosion results in the formation of the oxides of metal or salts. Only iron oxide is formed when rusting takes place.
