Step-by-step explanation:

given,

perimeter = 48

perimeter of a rectangle =2(l+b)

so,

2(l+b)=48

l+b=24 ...... eq1

also given that,

l=2b

substitute in eq 1

2b + b=24

3b=24

b= 8 cm

as length is twice of breadth

l=2b

l=2(8)

l=16cm

GIVEN:

  • Length of rectangle is twice of breadth.
  • Perimeter of rectangle is 48cm.

TO FIND:

  • Dimensions (length and breadth)

SOLUTION:

Let us first assume breadth be x.

Then according to the question length will be 2x.

First we should know the meaning of perimeter.

PERIMETER=Sum of all sides.

 \sf \bigstar Perimeter \:  of \:  rectangle = 2(l + b)

 \large \sf :  \implies  \:  \: 48cm = 2(2x + x)

 \large \sf :  \implies  \:  \: 48cm = 2(3x)

  \large\sf :  \implies  \:  \: 48cm = 6x

 \sf \large :  \implies  \:  \:  \frac{48cm}{6} = x

 \sf \large :  \implies  \:  \:  8cm = x

 \sf \large✬Breadth \:  of  \: rectangle=x=8cm

 \sf \large✬Length  \: of  \: rectangle=2x=16cm
