i) Pole: Pole is defined as the centre of aperture of the spherical mirror.

ii) Centre of curvature : It is defined as the centre of the hollow sphere of glass of which the mirror is a part.

iii) principal axis: defined as a line going through the centre of the mirror that is exactly perpendicular to the surface of the mirror.
