HEY FRIEND
HERE IS YOUR ANSWER
Here triangle ABC is a right angled triangle. [ since <B = 90°]
So according to Pythagoras' theorem,
(Perpendicular) ^2 + (Base)^2 = (Hypotenuse)^2
or, (AB)^2 + (BC) ^2 = (AC)^2
or, (AB)^2 = (17)^2 - (15)^2
or, (AB)^2 = 64
or, AB = +8 or -8
Length can never be negative.
So AB = 8 cm. (a) ----- Ans.
Area of a triangle = 1/2 * Base * Height
= (1/2 *8 * 15 )sq. cm.= 60 sq. cm. (b)------Ans.
Now considering AC as base
1/2 * AC * BD = 60 [as area remains constant]
or, BD = 60*2/17
or, BD = 7. 058 (c) ----- Ans.
