                   THE FALL OF ROME

1. ROLE OF SLAVERY TRADE

During the 5th and 6th century Rome had slaves working as craftsmen in the field. This resulted in a reduced price of labor.

The economy at that time of Rome was dependent on slaves to till its fields and work as craftsmen.

But in the 7th century when the fall of the Roman Empire took place, slavery was ended and all the slaves were seen as peasants along with that they were provided the freedom to have a family and do whatever they want as long as they would grow the required amounts of crops to pay the taxes and rent to the landowners.

2.ROLE OF MILITARY

The Roman Empire extended from the Atlantic Ocean to the Euphrates River in the Middle East.

With such a vast area to govern the Empire faced difficulty and could not hold communication, leading to the safety of the Empire.

It failed to marshall enough troops and resources to defend its frontiers from rebellions and attacks.

Due to this more funds were invested into the military upkeep, which ultimately slowed down technological advancement.

3.ROLE OF CHRISTIANITY

As to have a divine status, the polytheistic Roman religion was displaced by Christianity and this shifted the focus away from the glory of the state to the sole deity.

This lead to a comparison in the military, economic and administrative factors.

4.IMPACT OF POLITICS

Values like patriotism, loyalty. and discipline was lost as the people did not longer have loyalty towards their Emperors due to oppression and authoritative ways.

The corruption taking place by the government and civil wars between generals over succession led to chaos. Over 20 men on the throne in the span of only 75 years.

As the situation worsened, civic pride took over and Roman citizens lost trust in their leaders.

5.WHO INVADED THE FALL OF ROME?

The Hans invaded from the east to the Goths, who then invaded the Roman Empire.

Along with many Germanic Tribes from Northern Europe.

The battle with Gauls took place on July 18, 387 B.C. along the Banks of the River Allia.

In A.D. 410 a group of Visigoths led by king Alaric besieged Rome for the third siege by opening the Salarian Gate for the barbarians.
