Answer:

1. Rules for sign convention : All distances should be measured from the pole. The distances measured in the direction of incident light, to be taken positive and measured in the opposite direction of incident light to be taken negative.

2. If the object is placed between the focus and pole of a concave mirror, it provides a virtual enlarged and erect image. So, the doctors use it as a magnifying tool. The concave mirrors provide a magnified reflection of whatever is being reflected.

3. A plane mirror will always produce a virtual image. A concave mirror will only produce a virtual image if the object is located in front of the focal point. 4. Identify the means by which you can use a concave and/or a plane mirror to produce an upright image.

4. A real image and a virtual image are different forms of image. The main difference between real and virtual images lies in the way in which they are produced. A real image is formed when rays converge, whereas a virtual image occurs where rays only appear to diverge.

5. Painted in 1600 by Gieulio Parigi. Greek inventor Archimedes is said to have used mirrors to burn ships of an attacking Roman fleet.

6. The distance from the pole to the center of curvature is called (no surprise, I hope) the radius of curvature (r). The distance from the pole to the focal point is called the focal length (f). The focal length of a spherical mirror is then approximately half its radius of curvature.

1.Rules for sign convention :

1.All distances should be measured from the pole.

2.The distances measured in the direction of incident light, to be taken positive and measured in the opposite direction of incident light to be taken negative.

3.Height of object and height of image are positive if measured upward from the axis and negative if measured downward.

4.For a concave mirror 'f and ‘R’ are negative and for a convex mirror these are positive.
