Himadri (Great or Inner Himalayas)
It is the most continuous range.
Himachal (Lesser Himalayas)
It lies to the south of Himadri and forms the most rugged mountain system.
Shiwaliks (Outer Himalayas)
This is the outermost range of the Himalayas.

The Pir Panjal range is the most important and longest mountain range of Himachal Himalaya.
³} The himalaya are a mountain range in south asia . The west end is in pakistan . They run through Jammu and kashmir , Himachal pradesh ,Uttaranchal ,Sikkim and Arunachal pradesh states in India ,Nepal ,Bhutan . The east end in south of Tibet.
⁴}It forms India's frontiers with Afghanistan and China and acts as watershed between India and Turkestan. It extends eastwards from the Pamir for about 800 km. The average width of this range is 120-140 km. It is a range of lofty peaks and its elevation hardly ever falls below 5,500 mt.
