The correct answers are -

(b) The first event that made Douglas scared of water was being knocked down by the waves at a beach in California where he went with his father. The other mishap occurred at the YMCA pool he was visiting to learn to swim. He was 10-11 years old, and had just started swimming. He was sitting in corner of the pool when he was pushed into the water by an elder child. He knew nothing about swimming, and started to drown in the pool

(c) The crofter had believed that the peddler was someone he was not. He thought it was his old friend, because he saw him in the night. He realized later, that it wasn't the man he thought to be but still invited him to stay with them until Christmas. He did so as he was lonely and wanted to be with somebody. He was therefore very talkative and friendly with the peddler and even called his daughter so he could be convinced to come with them. He also served as a gracious host at his home and provided porridge and tobacco.

(e) Evans cut his hair like the hair of McLeery, and wore a hat to conceal it. Even when Jackson told him to do so he didn't take off his hat because he feared being caught. He had planned his escape from prison by impersonating McLeery after the exam had ended and leaving in his place. Prison authorities were aware that Evans will try to escape and took precautions in advance. Stephens was responsible for the review of the test proceedings and gazed inside the cell every two minutes. The exam ended peacefully but he was shocked to see McLeery bleeding there.

(f)The story Memories of Childhood reveals the sufferings and injustice that oppressed community. All scholars have had to address social stratification. Zitkala Sa was stared at, her blanket and moccasins were stripped from her and she had to wear tight fitting clothes. Zitkala Sa opposed her hair shingling because the place where she came from; short hair was worn by mourners and shingled hair by unskilled warriors captured by the enemies.
