a) Sophie was a day dreamer and she was always fantacising .She never accepted the reality that her dreams will never come true. She was fickle minded .

b)M. Hamel dressed differently that day. M. Hamel was wearing his beautiful green coat, his frilled shirt, and the little black silk cap, all embroidered. He wore them on inspection and prize days.he wore this because it was their last lesson in their mother tongue,French. From the next day, they were going to be taught German in place of French because the order had come from Berlin to teach only German in the school of Alsace and Lorraine and that it was their last lesson in French. The new master came the next day.

c) Zitkala sa did so as her mother taught her that only unskilled warriors who were captured had their hair shingled. Because her mother had taught them that only unskilled warriors who were captured had their hair shingled by the enemy.

d)Aunt Jennifer has created tigers of the forests who are brave and free. She has been tamed to stay at home and fulfill her marriage vows and duties, unlike the tigers who go on prancing with certainty without fearing men. She fears her husband. She wishes for freedom, but She has lost all courage and certainty. The poet is setting up a contrast to a life of freedom and life of being dominated.

e)Evans was a young prisoner who has been escaping thrice from the prison. He was called as ‘Evans the break’. He seems to be a pleasant and amusing person who was good at imitations. At present, he was in a solitary cell in Oxford prison. He was not at all violent person and he was basically a kleptomaniac person.

f) When the Maharaja shot the tiger, the bullet missed it and the tiger fainted from the shock of bullet whizzing past. The Maharaja left and the hundredth tiger was later killed by his deewan from a short distance of one foot, without missing his mark because he feared that if the Maharaja would know about the tiger being alive, he would banish the deewan from his kingdom.
