♧Question♧
- A simple pendulum of length l carries a bob of mass m. if the breaking strength of the string is 2mg,the maximum angular amplitude from the vertical can be_________
♧Answer♧
Given data:-
- ➠Strength of the string = 2mg
To find:-
- ➠Maximum angular amplitude = ?
Solution:-
☆As we know , the maximum tension is at the lowest point.
- ➠Tmax = 2 m g
- ➠T- mg = mv²/l
- ➠2mg – mg = mv²/l
- ➠v = √(gl)
☆By applying energy conservation.
- ➠mgh = mv²/2
- ➠mgl ( 1 - cosθ ) = (m/2)(√(lg))²
- ➠gl- glcosθ = (m/2)(√(lg))²
- ➠gl/2 = glcosθ
- ➠1/2 = cosθ
- ➠θ = 60° Ans
So the Maximum angular amplitude from its vertical can be 60°.
