1) Parallel combination since the voltage 60V remains constant.

2) • There is no division of voltage among the lamps

• The effective resistance remains the minimum due to which there is less current and power loss.

3) Resistance is proportional to V/I

C has the lowest resistance = 60/5 = 12 ohm

C will glow the brightest.

4) Ra =V/I = 20 ohm

Rb = 60/4 = 15 ohm

Rc =60/5 = 12 ohm

Rd = 60/3 = 20 ohm

1/Req = 1/Ra + 1/Rb + 1/Rc + 1/Rd

= 1/20+1/15+1/12+1/20

= 1/10 + 3/20

= 5/20 = 1/4

Req = 4 ohm.
