Answer:

Masses are given as .:

i) 10.4 gram

ii) 2.56 gram

iii) 0.01 gram

(molarity + its unit are explained below)

Explanation:

i) mass of one mole of KNO3

= 39+ 17 + 16×3 = 104 gram

THUS mass of one 0.1 mole

= 104 × 0.1 = 10.4 gram

ii) mass of one mole of CH4

= 12 + 1×4 = 16 gram

Now convert the number of molecules given into moles (i.e. divide it by avogadros number)

=\frac{1 \times {10}^{23}} {6 \times {10}^{23} } = \frac{1}{6} = 0.16 \: mol

Hence the mass of 0.16 mol of CH4

= 16 × 0.16 = 2.56 gram

iii) As we know the volume of one mole of every gas at STP = 22.4 dm3

The given volume of Hydrogen gas is 112 cm3 = 0.112 dm3

HENCE the number of moles of Hydrogen in 112cm3 = 0.112 / 22.4

= 0.005 mol

Now as the mass of one mole of Hydrogen = 2 gram

thus the mass of 0.005 mole would be

= 2 × 0.005 = 0.01 gram

& MOLARITY OF A SOLUTION is simply the number of moles of a solute dissolved in one litre of a solvent.

it is denoted by "M" and = mol/litre

(as one litre = one dm3)

Thus the SI unit of molarity is "mol/dm3"
