Step-by-step explanation:

So 3 shirts and 7 pair of pants have 55 buttons

let the no of buttons on each shirt be x and pant be y.

So x - 5 = y

x = y + 5

now 3 x + 7 y = 55

3 {y+5} + 7y = 55

3y + 15 + 7y = 55

10y = 40

y = 4 .

So no of buttons on each pant = 4 .

According to question we know each shirt has 5 buttons more than that of each pant.

Henceforth, required answer :-

x = y + 5

x = 4+5 = 9

So buttons on each shirt is 9 .
